PolyJet, Stratasys’ proprietary jetting technology, was introduced to the dental industry in 2005 and adopted mainly by large dental labs and aligner manufacturers. To meet the industry’s changing needs, Stratasys developed the J5 DentaJet - a 3D dental printer with multi-material printing capabilities and a large capacity circular print tray, all in a small footprint. It was designed to reduce costs, maximize efficiency, and create more dental parts with less handling; leveraging PolyJet technology to simultaneously print different dental applications.

The J5 DentaJet was launched in 2021 and was well received by dental labs around the world. Since its release, we’ve introduced new print modes on the printer that allow labs to produce even more parts, faster. In addition, we recently introduced the TrueDent™ resin that enables our J5 DentaJet customers to print monolithic, full color dentures and high aesthetic temporary crowns and bridges.

Today we’re thrilled to announce the release of the J3 DentaJet, a compact PolyJet printer for small to medium-sized labs. The J3 DentaJet can print up to 3 materials at the same time, all on the same large tray and with high accuracy. It provides our customers a versatile production solution that can be used to print any type of dental models, as well as clear surgical guides and soft gingiva masks, together on the same biocompatible tray.

Here’s what else the J3 DentaJet offers for small to medium-sized dental labs:

Multi-Material Printing. With the ability to produce mixed applications of three biocompatible materials in the same print job, J3 DentaJet users can produce a large quantity of implant models, transparent surgical guides, and soft gingiva masks on the same tray, with the same accuracy that users expect from the J5 DentaJet.

Increased volume and productivity. With the J3 DentaJet, labs can produce large volumes of fully cured parts overnight to optimize resources and increase efficiency. Plus, the J3 DentaJet can be configured for single material printing, to print large batches of dental models or surgical guides even faster. Users can load one tray and walk away, confident that parts will be printed without needing to be overseen.

Accuracy and consistency. When parts need to be as accurate as possible, the J3 DentaJet produces parts suitable for the most challenging requirements. Due to the fine layer thickness and uniform support generation of PolyJet printing, parts like implant models and surgical guides are printed with the same accuracy, every time. No post-curing means that parts keep their dimensions when post-processing, for consistent results.

Safe working environment. With PolyJet printing, droplets of a liquid resin are jetted and then cured layer by layer on the build tray. There is no contact between the system operator and potentially hazardous uncured resin at any point during the printing process. In other technologies, post processing of parts involves the use of caustic isopropyl alcohol, whereas PolyJet cleans parts with water pressure.

Ease of use. Stratasys dental printers including the DentaJet™ series printers are managed by GrabCAD Print software platform. It’s easy to use and offers features that streamline the digital workflow such as fleet management, automatic tray arrangement and remote printing.
